Job description

Are you looking to take the next step in your career in IT? If so, we have a vacancy for a positive and proactive individual to join our busy IT Team as a front line IT Support Technician.

With some previous experience in an IT Support role, and a basic knowledge of IT systems and networks, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our user base covering IT Support, Network and infrastructure using Microsoft packages, Active Directory, email management , telephony, hardware and software support.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Respond to and resolve support requests for a range of topics including user access management, networks and infrastructure as well as support of in-house developed and commercial off the shelf software packages.

• Manage tickets to ensure adherence to SLAs in the Normec IT service management tool

• Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and software applications

• Set up new users’ accounts and profiles and deal with password issues

• Support the roll-out of new applications

• Create or update knowledge documentation covering both infrastructure and software applications

• Undertake regular checklist activities to ensure that the IT environment is functioning effectively

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer science or relevant subject would be desirable.

• Some experience in a IT support role

WHAT WE OFFER YOU:

• SALARY: from £24,000 to £26,000 depending on skills and experience

• LOCATION: Consett

• WORKING PATTERN: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours a day
