Laboratory Technician - 1 Year Fixed Term

Are you a proactive, organised individual who has an interest in science? If so, our Inorganics Laboratory Technician role may be the next step in your career. This role will assist analysts in the preparation and sub sampling of incoming samples and housekeeping.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation and extraction of analytical samples and reagents including basic analysis using classical wet chemistry techniques in accordance with laboratory test procedures.

• Basic laboratory testing where appropriate.

• The Calculation of results.

• Ensuring Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.

• Ensuring Quality procedures are adhered to.

• Data entry into LIMS.

• Calibration, equipment and balance checks

• Housekeeping, ensuring the laboratory work area is clean, tidy and free from rubbish.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• A minimum of G.C.S.E grade C or above in Science, Maths and English is desirable.

• Basic computer skills

DESIRED EXPERIENCE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

• Industry Experience.

SALARY: £23,480.37

LOCATION: Consett. Onsite parking.

WORKING PATTERN: Monday-Friday, 37.5h per week
