LOCATION: Crayford

WORKING PATTERN: Monday- Friday 37.5h

Are you a confident, experienced Health and Safety Advisor ready to make an impact? We're looking for someone like you to join our team at our state-of-the-art Laboratory in Crayford. If you have hands-on experience in a similar role, are well-versed in maintaining ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 certified HSE management systems, and have a passion for ensuring safety at every level, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for.

In this key role, you’ll take charge of managing and mitigating HSE risks across the site, helping to cultivate a proactive and safety-first culture. Your expertise will directly contribute to the well-being of employees, contractors, third parties, and visitors by preventing accidents and occupational diseases.

With experience in creating COSHH assessments and leading internal audits, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things HSE at our Crayford Laboratory. Plus, some presence at our Lenham location will be required to ensure consistent and effective safety measures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the HSE Leader and site managers to integrate HSE processes into business operations.

• Provide ongoing HSE support to the business.

• Assist in developing and maintaining the Integrated Management System to meet ISO standards.

• Communicate and coordinate HSE objectives and projects.

• Actively participate in the Management and HSE Teams.

• Ensure compliance with HSE legal requirements and industry best practices at both labs.

• Lead HSE Risk Assessments.

• Identify HSE training needs with departmental managers and ensure compliance.

• Support operational managers to complete safety and environmental checks and address issues.

• Serve as the company’s fire officer and liaise with the Fire Brigade in emergencies.

• Organize emergency response exercises and drills for preparedness.

• Lead or support investigations of HSE incidents.

• Contribute to monthly HSE performance reports.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Minimum NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent

• Internal auditor qualification.

• Must hold a valid UK driving license.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Experience in ISO 14001 and 45001 is essential.

• Experience in water hygiene, environmental or analytical services with robust knowledge of chemical safety.

• Expertise or specialism including relevant qualifications would be desirable in some or all of the following:

Mental Health training / Manual Handling training / Fire Safety / Level 3 Award in Training and Education / Competency in producing COSHH assessments
