WORKING PATTERN: 42.5 hours Mon-Fri between 0600-1800. (1x4hour shift on Sat every 4 weeks with hours gained back the week earlier)

Main Responsibilities

Soil sample preparation:

• Reception of Samples.

• Recording of samples using the Regmaster system.

• Storage and retrieval of samples from stores.

• Ensuring Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.

• Ensuring Quality procedures are adhered to.

• Data entry into LIMS and Regmaster system.

• Housekeeping, ensuring the laboratory work area is clean, tidy and free from rubbish.

• Preparation of samples including traying out, crushing, drying, making leachates, weighing, etc.

• Describing the soil type and logging the description of soil samples into LIMS.

• Assist in water sample preparation when required.

Water sample preparation:

• Prepare Water Samples for testing, by filtering samples, splitting them into separate containers and adding different acids.

• Recording and Storage of water samples.

• Preparation of leachate samples.

• Housekeeping, ensuring the laboratory work area is clean, tidy and free from rubbish.

• Ensuring Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.

• Ensuring Quality procedures are adhered to.

• Disposal of waters.

• Assist in soil sample preparation when required.

Experience required:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a production/warehouse environment.

• Industry experience desired but not essential

Qualifications Desired:

• A minimum of G.C.S.E grade C or above in Science, Maths and English is desirable.

• Forklift Truck Licence
